Steamed Diced Vegetables with Cheese Sauce

Steamed Cheesy Vegetables
Makes 4 servings.

Ingredients:


1 large potato
2 carrots
200 g broccoli
6 small asparagus tips
4 dessert spoonfuls peas
salt and oil


For the sauce:
a knob of butter
20 cl of milk
1 teaspoonful flour
50 g grated cheese

Preparation:


1 - Leave them to cook for 30 to 40 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

2 - For the sauce, melt the butter in a small frying pan, add flour and wait for this to begin to turn golden brown.

3 - Then add the milk, little by little, while stirring continuously.

4 - Allow to cook for around 2 minutes and then, finally, add the grated cheese.

Tips: Presentation: Put the different vegetables onto the plate without mixing them up, so that they are in small, separate piles. Then add the sauce on one side, so that the child can dip the food into it him or herself.
